About J-Canine Pet Resort "The Ultimate Country Retreat" |

J-Canine Pet Resort is a premier state-of-the-art facility in southwestern Fort Bend County. Situated on almost twenty acres, we strive to be your full-service pet care establishment, providing spacious dog and cat boarding, luxurious professional all-breed grooming, and a variety of training programs. All of our custom designed luxury suites, cattery, and the indoor portion of the kennel are climate controlled with central air-conditioning and heating.
Liz has worked for J-Canine since before we opened. She works primarily at the front desk, but you'll find her playing kennel technician, too, and is our resident cat whisperer (with Johanna!). She has three Australian Shepherds, two cats, and one human son who is 8 years old. Her main hobby is the dogs, doing both conformation and lots of agility on the weekends. Barbara is our Queen Bee kennel tech. She worked with horses before joining J-Canine shortly after we opened in July of 2006. She has two daughters, one son, and two beautiful grandsons in addition to her 13 year old dog, George and stray-cat-turned-pet, Miss Kitty. Barbara is in charge of everybody in the morning during the week, and loves every minute of it - she's a huge part of the team! Melinda has been with J-Canine since June of 2008 and works at the front desk and is a senior kennel tech, too. She lives with 4 dogs of her own - a Mastiff, a Bullmastiff, and two labs. In her spare time (when we let her go!!), she shoots sporting clays and skeet. She loves working with the dogs and we're lucky to have her! Jennifer started working at J-Canine in March of 2009, as a part-time kennel technician. We've since been able to snag her to work here full-time! Jenn has a chocolate lab mix named Heidi and currently fosters for several rescue groups. She even just had her first rescue foster kitten! She also enjoys going to the beach, scrapbooking, and gardening. Johanna joined the JCPR team in June of 2007 and has been back for every Spring Break, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and summer vacation since. She's going to college right now for a degree in Biology so she can work at a zoo. She has 3 cats that were once strays, 2 rescue dogs, and 1 bird at home and loves doing any thing that involves sports or the outdoors. Samantha was recruited by her friend Johanna and starting working here in the summer of 2009. She's been around animals her whole life, including showing chickens & heifers at the Austin County Fair and the Houston Livestock Show. She has two rescue cats and two dogs, Rocky & Pooter. She's going to Texas A&M right now, but comes back and works on the holidays and during the summer. Chelsea is a high-school student who started working at J-Canine in June of 2009. She's very active in school, but works here on the holidays and weekends. She lives and home with her family's seven dogs and lots of kitties. Haleigh is another one of our part-time girls who come back every chance they get. She's attending Sam Houston State University right now and runs track there. Working the early shift here in the summer keeps her trained for track and getting up early for classes! The entire staff at J-Canine Pet Resort is dedicated to providing your pets with the same individual, tender, loving, and experienced care that they would receive at home.

J-Canine Pet Resort
is owned and managed by Joni Huff, who has 30 years of experience in
the pet care industry, having been involved in training and caring
for animals for much of her life. During this time, she earned numerous AKC
dog obedience titles on different breeds. As well as having
trained and competed with her own dogs, she has instructed private
and group obedience lessons, trained dogs for clients, managed a
boarding facility, and groomed various breeds. Joni has also
been actively involved with rescue for the past 15 years. She has
fostered many homeless pets in her home for many different breed,
all breed, and cat rescue organizations.
