About J-Canine Pet Resort "The Ultimate Country Retreat" |

J-Canine Pet Resort is a premier state-of-the-art facility in southwestern Fort Bend County. Situated on almost twenty acres, we strive to be your full-service pet care establishment, providing spacious dog and cat boarding, luxurious professional all-breed grooming, and a variety of training programs. All of our custom designed luxury suites, cattery, and the indoor portion of the kennel are climate controlled with central air-conditioning and heating. We also have the best staff around, with most of our employees having been here for years!
 Melinda has been with J-Canine since June
of 2008 and is now a manager in addition to working at the front desk and
as a senior kennel tech,
too. She lives with 4 dogs of her own - a Mastiff, a
Bullmastiff, and two labs. In her spare time (when we let her
go!!), she shoots sporting clays and skeet. She loves working
with the dogs and we're lucky to have her!
The entire staff at J-Canine Pet Resort is dedicated to providing your pets with the same individual, tender, loving, and experienced care that they would receive at home.

J-Canine Pet Resort
is owned and managed by Joni Huff, who has 30 years of experience in
the pet care industry, having been involved in training and caring
for animals for much of her life. During this time, she earned
numerous AKC dog obedience titles on different breeds. As well
as having trained and competed with her own dogs, she has instructed
private and group obedience lessons, trained dogs for clients,
managed a boarding facility, and groomed various breeds. Joni
has also been actively involved with rescue for the past 20 years. She has
fostered many homeless pets in her home for many different breed,
all breed, and cat rescue organizations. Joni lives with
quite a few critters, including her horses, Dobermans, and Heelers.
She also loves her orange kitties!
Liz
is a manager at J-Canine Pet Resort and has worked with Joni since before
we opened. She works primarily at the front desk, but you'll
find her playing kennel technician, too, and is our resident cat
whisperer (with Johanna!). She has four Australian Shepherds,
cats, and one human son who is 8 years old. Her main hobby
is the dogs, doing both conformation and lots of agility on the
weekends. 
Barbara is our Queen Bee kennel tech.
She worked with horses before joining J-Canine shortly after we
opened in July of 2006. She has two daughters, one son, and
two beautiful grandsons in addition to her 13 year old dog, George
and stray-cat-turned-pet, Miss Kitty. She was also recently
suckered into taking home a new little terrier mix! Barbara is in charge of
everybody in the morning during the week, and loves every minute of
it - she's a huge part of the team!
Carol
works part-time at J-Canine but has been with us since May of 2007.
Carol was client who just couldn't stay away and now works
here, too! Carol is very active in our community and she lives
with her husband and 4 wonderful mixed breed dogs, who rule the
roost in their home!
Martine
began working at J-Canine in August of 2007 as a front desk
receptionist and senior kennel tech. After learning loads from
everyone here and then taking some classes and seminars herself, she
became our Dog Training Coordinator in 2010 and now handles all of
the training at J-Canine. She also has three dogs of her own -
learn more about Martine on our 
Johanna joined the JCPR team in June of
2007 and has been back for every Spring Break, Thanksgiving,
Christmas, and summer vacation since. She's going to college
right now for a degree in Biology so she can work at a zoo.
She has 4 cats that were once strays, 2 rescue dogs, and 1 bird at
home and loves doing any thing that involves sports or the outdoors. 
Monica
has been with J-Canine since March of 2009. Her parents own a
horse stable, and she grew up working there with the horses and
teaching riding lessons. She is in college now, but helps out
here as much as possible. Joni's horses especially enjoy
Monica's summers at home because they get a few months of her her
expertise! She lives with her horses, cats, and Houdini the
iguana, who can also be seen on our 
Chelsea
started working at J-Canine in June of 2009 as a high school student. She
was very active
in school, but worked here on the holidays and weekends. She's
in college now, but still loves coming back to work at J-Canine for
holidays and the summer. She's great with the dogs and a huge
asset to the team! 
Caty
joined the J-Canine team in March of 2010, just in time for spring
break. She was in high school then, and worked on the weekends
here for her last year of school. She's in college now, but
we'll see her here on holidays and for summertime. We love our
girls that come back for the busy times! 
Cheryll
has been with J-Canine since March of 2010. She has three
Aussies and a Beagle and cats, too! She's starting agility
with a couple of her dogs and really enjoying it. She started
out as a student in Martine's classes and then decided to work here,
too. She's studying dog behavior and training now, too.
Shelby
C. began her J-Canine career in May of 2010 and
quickly became invaluable. She's also a college student who
comes back and helps us on the weekends, holidays, and summertime.
She lives with a Great Dane and a Rat Terrier and loves dogs of all
shapes and sizes! 
Gilbert
has been with us since May of 2008. He's the best maintenance
guy in the world, keeping up with all of our yards and honey-do
lists around here. He's the reason the yards and roses look as
pretty as they do, and he can fix just about anything! Plus,
the horses are always glad to see him coming with their food and
treats!
